I. Digital Accessibility

The Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź undertakes to ensure the availability of its website in accordance with the provisions of the Act of 4 April 2019 on the digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities.

Accessibility of the website in terms of compliance with the law

The website is partially  compliant with the Act on digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities due to incompatibilities or exclusions listed below.

Unavailable content

  • The website contains images for which there is no alternative text
  • Some elements of the website are not available digitally
  • The website may contain the so-called short links (without the information of the link’s destination)
  • Articles on some pages lack proper header structure
  • The site contains content that is only highlighted in colour
  • The website contains videos with no subtitles for the Deaf or the Hearing Impaired
  • User interface elements such as main navigation buttons, checkboxes in forms, and buttons in the video player do not have focus styles
  • The keyboard navigation order does not follow the visual flow of the page

Corrected content

  • The site meets the requirements of high contrast on most subpages
  • The number of elements without alternative text was reduced
  • The amount of content highlighted only in colour was reduced
  • The number of digitally inaccessible website elements was reduced

Exemptions from the accessibility requirement:

  • documents containing text or text and visual materials, documents created in programs intended for presentations or spreadsheets, published before September 23, 2018
  • files created by entities other than the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź and submitted for publication in paper form or as scans with no access to source data,
  • archival content, not used for the implementation of current tasks.

Being aware of the existing inconveniences, the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź makes efforts to minimize the amount of content unavailable to Persons with disabilities. Among other things, work is underway on the new website of the Public Information Bulletin of the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź which will take into account the regulations resulting from the Act on digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities.

II. Architectural accessibility

1. Main building of the Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts Łódź, 121 Wojska Polskiego Street

The building is adapted for people with special needs in the following scope:

  • wheelchair access possible from the inner courtyard,
  • south and north doors without thresholds, automatic, sliding, triggered by a motion detector,
  • pylon signs,
  • information point located by the main entrance to the building
  • toilets for the disabled on three floors (ground floor, 1st and 2nd floor)
  • lifts adapted for the disabled, including wheelchair users,
  • easily accessible lift button located lower than the standard height,
  • lift speakers informing passengers about the floor number and rooms located on the floor,
  • designated parking spaces for the disabled in the building’s car park
  • fire alarm system with sound signalling.

There is a possibility of entering the building with an assistance dog. The scope of access of assistance animals to particular studios is determined individually depending on the type of classes held there.

No access to two-level studios.

The building is not equipped with a complete information system for people with sensory disabilities. The building does not have an induction loop at the reception. It does not have information boards in Braille or tactile graphics showing the layout of the building that can be read by touch, no contrasting or large print markings are available.

There is no sign language interpreter in the building, nor is it possible to use the online interpreter service. The need for a sign language interpreter should be reported to the Rector's Proxy for the Disabled at least 3 days before the planned visit:

2. CPM/CNiS (Fashion Promotion Centre/Science and Art Centre), 121 Wojska Polskiego Street

The building is adapted for people with special needs in the following scope:

  • access for wheelchair users possible from the inner courtyard and from the car park by means of a platform for the disabled mounted to the handrail by the entrance from Palki Street,
  • pylon signs,
  • south and north doors without thresholds, automatic, sliding, triggered by a motion detector,
  • information point located by the main entrance to the building,
  • access to all rooms without architectural barriers,
  • toilets for the disabled on all floors,
  • lifts adapted for the disabled, including wheelchair users,
  • easily accessible lift button located lower than the standard height,
  • lifts equipped with loudspeakers providing the information on which floor the lift has stopped and what rooms are located there,
  • designated parking spaces for the disabled in the building’s car park
  • fire alarm system with sound signalling.

There is a possibility of entering the building with an assistance dog. The scope of access of assistance animals to particular studios is determined individually depending on the type of classes held there.

3. Academic Design Centre in Łódź, 13/15 Księży Młyn Street

The building is adapted for people with special needs in the following scope:

  • access for wheelchair users possible from the inner courtyard (a ramp for the disabled leading to the gym, a ramp at the main entrance with a gentle inclination, with a landing at the entrance),
  • toilets for the disabled on all floors,
  • access to all rooms with no architectural barriers (with the exception of technical rooms on the -1 floor),
  • contrasting skirting boards and door frames,
  • lifts adapted for the disabled, including wheelchair users,
  • easily accessible lift button located lower than the standard height,
  • lift speakers informing passengers about the floor number and rooms located on the floor,
  • designated parking spaces for the disabled in the building’s car park
  • fire alarm system with sound signalling,

In the case of incoming exchange students with special needs all such needs should be reported to the Rector's Proxy for the Disabled before the application process begins: Ten adres pocztowy jest chroniony przed spamowaniem. If the scheme is sufficient for the student to successfully complete the mobility, the scheme should be attached to the documents provided in the application procedure.
