Antonella Cuzzocrea is an artist from Rome (Italy), who expresses in her works a continuous and constant search, looking for something that she “lost”, trying to get hold of it in order to keep it always at her side.

She graduated in Modern Languages and Literature (La Sapienza University, Rome) and she is currently a teacher at the Liceo Artistico G.C.Argan in Rome. She started studying intaglio in 2003 and completed the two-year printmaking course at the Scuola di Arti e Mestieri San Giacomo (Rome) in 2013. She attended printmaking workshops in Italy and abroad and her works have been exhibited in several group exhibitions and in her solo exhibition “IMPOSSIBILE fermare un'idea”, Rome (2016). She has learnt bookbinding, one of her passions, and held workshops at the Rhode Island School of Design (Rome) and IAPMA Congress 2014 (Fabriano). She crafts Cahiérs for the Haute de Couture and Prêt-à-porter collections of the Maison Valentino. Since 2006, she has focused on artist's books taking part in many national and international artist's book exhibitions. In 2013 she participated in Liberbook (Parma) and Book Project International (Marseille). In 2015 her Lanzarote (sovrimpressioni) 2/3 was purchased by the artist's book collection of the Bibliothèque Méjanes in Aix-en-Provence (France). She won first Prize with the book Hiatus at the 3rd Concorso Internazionale "Artistic and Altered Books", G.I.L.D.A., Parma. In recent years she has also been exploring other ways of expressing herself through ink and collage on library cards, and stitching large paper panels made of old book pages and used tea bags. She is a member of Grecam Association (founded by Uruguayan poet and psychotherapist Norberto Silva Itza) where she has explored the relationship between well-being and creativity through theatre performances, poetry, video and installations for more than 25 years.
